NSFAS Returning Students Requirements | Eligibility

The returning student’s requirements are similar to the requirements of the initial application for NSFAS enrollment. NSFAS views and analyzes the financial resources of a recipient each year, and if it finds that a student has earned more money than the income threshold, it cuts off his grant. Here are the requirements.

  1. A student must be a citizen of South Africa.
  2. The recipient has a combined household income of R350,000 annually.
  3. A physically unprivileged student should have a combined household income of R600,000.
  4. A student must have a minimum pass rate in the previous year.

Students who return after passing a year with the help of NSFAS funding can get another year’s grant if they maintain the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria are similar to SASSA; if you meet SASSA criteria, you are also eligible for NSFAS. I hope this information will help you in the future; thank you.
