NSFAS Payment Dates & Schedule For TVET College 2024
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme helps thousands of individuals every year. It not only funds them with monetary rewards but also provides them with accommodation, transportation, and study materials. NSFAS sends money to the accounts of applicants every month.
Most people are eager to know the NSFAS payment dates and schedule. First, I should clarify that the NSFAS payment dates are determined by the controlling body each month based on the funds in the Department of Treasury. Secondly, the payment dates may change every month, so there are no exact dates or a schedule, but I have rough data on NSFAS payment dates released by the controlling body.
NSFAS Payment Dates and Schedule
The Ministry of Higher Education controls the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. The Ministry deals with all the challenges, such as the lack of treasury, processing applications, and investigating enrolled students’ money sources. It also determines the dates and the schedule for every year, but the payment dates are also based on economic circumstances.
Basically, the Ministry of Higher Education releases payments if there are sufficient funds available in the Department of Treasury. In case the department lacks funds, the Ministry delays two to three days and requests the government to release NSFAS funding. The Ministry announces payment dates and schedules every year that will be followed if circumstances remain favorable.
Sometimes, the Ministry sends funds following the schedule, but if economic problems occur in the country or the government lacks the funding, it delays the payment. NSFAS controlling bodies announce the dates I have listed below, but it is a rough estimation, so if the economic conditions remain favorable, you will receive money following these dates.

Factors That Affect Payment Dates
- Verification Process: The verification process may take time, which can cause a delay. If you are applying at the last date of closing, it is possible that your application will be approved after a little while.
- Academic Calendar: The NSFAS funding system follows an academic calendar in order to assist students during the university’s peak days. Following the academic calendar, the payments may be delayed.

When Is NSFAS Opening for the Second Semester 2024?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme gives grants to its recipients during the academic semester. The students who enroll in the first semester of their undergraduate programs receive payment in the middle of the semester, whereas those who enroll in NSFAS in semester 2 get payment at the beginning of the academic term.
According to the guidelines of NSFAS, the semester 2 TVET applications are closed but are open for non-technical field students. Semester 2 students can apply from the 17th to the 31st of July 2024. Applicants can submit the application on the official NSFAS website or visit their institute’s finance department.
NSFAS is a reason for hope for financially deprived students as thousands of individuals impatiently wait for the monthly grant as the first week of a month arrives. The purpose of the payment date and schedule announcement is to pacify students’ feelings of uneasiness so they seek clarity on when their part of the funds will be received. I hope this information will help you in the future; thank you.
